The NextGen Living Wall Vertical Garden proposed by Jarrett’s is a far superior vertical wall design that will provide optimal plant growing conditions and thereby offer improved plant health and visual appearance. The NextGen Living Wall is a modular, grid-based tray system and can be extended vertically and horizontally.
Each individual wall module is 1000mm wide, 750mm high and 225mm deep. Each module has its own water tube and water is cascaded through the system from the top once each module fills to the maximum level. Once water has filled each module (across modules if interconnected) and then down through each level to the bottom, the same water level control then drains any excess water through the overflow. This also controls water levels when there is significant rainfall (external installation) and any excess water is drained away in the same manner.
The NextGen planter system uses a plant pod system thereby also making plant replacements a simple process of removing the unwanted plants and swapping with a new plant pod. Many vertical wall systems require planting into the fixed medium which is a messy process whereby soil is easily spilled or necessitates the removal of the entire heavy and cumbersome wall system.
